This past weekend a group of girls from our barn went to a little local show here in Stillwater. It was so much fun! It was a great place to practice showing and get our horses out of their normal routine. It was such a better experience than our first show. Hot Rod was not a nut case and we actually did fairly well. We competed in showmanship, western pleasure, and western equitation. Blue ribbons in all three classes! Woot! Woot! Disclaimer: the western competition was slim. Like, really slim. But it really doesn’t matter to me. I feel like we earned those little blue ribbons. My horrible sense of direction got us there ten minutes before classes began. So, we didn’t have the chance to ride or even walk in the arena before showing. We didn’t practice at all and he still did well. I was super proud of him.
This is us before our showmanship class.
Hey, there, Handsome!
This is Catie. Friend. Trainer. Groom. She’s the best.
This is Heather and Valkyrie. They did awesome!
This is Naveah and Sparky. What a sweet pair. There’s nothing better than a girl and her pony.
Naveah and Sparky competed in the costume class as Little Bo Peep and her sheep. So precious. I’m lovin’ that blue ribbon, girl!
Here are the super stars again in their lead line class. I’m pretty sure they were the show favorites!
Here is our group, minus some of the younger girls in our barn. Catie, Heather, Hannah, and me. Can you see the sweat dripping down our faces? Because it was.
What a stress-free show with friends! This is what it’s all about, people!
