Avery over at AHAmoments is a pretty cool gal. I like her a lot. Last week she wrote a fun and inspiring post on how to overcome the blues. It’s called “3 Things” and it’s useful even when you’re not blue, too! There’s something about shifting your focus on the good in your life-it puts everything into perspective. I wanted to try it out and share it with y’all. You can check out her original post here, but basically you take a look at three things in your life.
So here goes!
- Two great things happened this weekend that I’m very thankful for. The first happened Saturday morning, when I bought three new chickens to fortify my flock after losing my two favorite hens to an opossum. That was a sad day… But back to the good day! My new girls are silver cuckoo marans. They’re healthy, happy, and have already settled in and started laying. The second good thing happened Sunday afternoon, when my oldest girl and I rode together. Something clicked this time, and Hot Rod really started paying attention to her. Maybe it was the introduction to her teeny spurs… We ended our ride by walking outside the arena, along the drive. She said her dream was to go on a trail ride with me! I told her we’d make a goal and get it done.
- This one is easy- leftover Valentine candy! And Tylenol Cold and Flu. Ha!
- My good thing for tomorrow? I plan on treating myself to a fancy latte in the morning after dropping off my daughter at preschool. Starbucks is a luxury to this country gal!
I have so much to be thankful for! There is so much GOOD in my life. Yes, there is difficult stuff. But there’s really really good stuff too. Jump in, and shout out your 3 things!
