I now present my second summer blog hop installment! The format is the same with 10 fun questions to help us get to know other bloggers. I will do one more summer blog hop post in August to round out the series. I hope you join in! Be sure to post the link to your blog in the comment section.
- If you could trail ride anywhere this summer, where would you go?
- Tell me your all-time favorite joke.
- Polo wraps or boots? Dare I ask, why.
- If your horse was a human, would you date him or her? (disregard gender specifics and just roll with the question, mmmk?)
- Name your favorite horse movie.
- Who inspires you?
- Tell me about your most embarrassing moment. 🙂
- If your horse could talk, what would you ask him or her?
- What was the best thing that happened to you today?
- What would be a great question to include on the last blog hop for the summer?
Since I just got home from the mountains, they’re on my mind. I have dreamed of taking my horses to the mountains in Colorado to trail ride for years. It is definitely on my bucket list! I don’t know how well they’d accept the challenge, but I’m game if they are!
What do you call a Filipino contortionist? A MANILA FOLDER! Get it?! Gotta know your geography…
I personally use boots. I have a nice, new pair of white polos and when I’ve put them on Hot Rod, I just don’t feel super confident that I’ve put them on well so I always take them off before riding. I think I’ve heard too many horror stories of bowed tendons and other injuries from wrapping them incorrectly, or too tightly, or not tight enough, etc. So, I opt for the easy way out and use boots.
Hmmmm. I think that Kona would be a friend-first sorta relationship. He’s playful and funny, and super cute. So I’m sure we’d start out just as friends and then wake up one day and realize we were actually in love. Just like a Nicholas Sparks novel. I’d date Hot Rod, too, but the scenario would be vastly different. He’d be my high school sweetheart. He’s loyal and committed, albeit somewhat boring at times… But, I’d always know I could count on him as my mane man. Ahem, I mean my main man. 😉
I don’t watch horse movies. They either drive me nuts with horrible horsemanship, or make me feel sick with grief. Hello, Warhorse…
There are several notable people who inspire me. For starters, my mom. She is hands-down the hardest working woman I know. Her perseverance inspires me. I’ve been reading Joyce Meyer literature lately and she has such a positive attitude that truly inspires me to look at the bright side of all situations. Lastly, working cowgirls in general are awe-inspiring to me. Many of them chose that life because they love living on the back of a horse day-in and day-out. They saddle-up and ride no matter what, and they heavily rely on the relationship with their horse. That’s pretty darn cool.
I have so many, how on earth can I decide on one?! Middle school was an especially hard season of life for me. I was so pathetically awkward. Some days, and these were not usually good days, I had to ride the bus to school. One particularly awkward and rainy morning, I rode the bus all the way to school without mishap until we arrived and the doors opened. I started to walk down the steps, but slipped on the muddy footprints on the stairs. I reacted by flinging my arms out to catch myself, but all I caught was the trash can by the driver’s feet. I slithered down the steps on my bottom, leaving a trail of trash in my wake. Worse still, when I stood up I discovered muddy stains smeared clear up and down my backside, resembling an unfortunate fecal accident in my pants. The rest of the kids on the bus, and the bus driver roared with laughter.
I would ask Rusty if he was in pain and if there was any way I could help him more. I would ask Hot Rod to please PLEASE help a girl out and nail his lead changes. I would ask Kona why he lets his brother beat the crap out of him, and then advise him on how to kick back.
I had a pretty good day, so that’s hard! But the best thing that happened was that Emmalee pooped in her potty chair. GO EM!!
I guess we’ll just have to wait and see about that one 😉
