Since I’m on a product review kick, I thought I’d just keep chugging along that direction.
A friend gave me a Sleek EZ for my birthday, and I’ve been wanting to share it ever since. My horses all live outside and since I’m not a big of blanketing, they grow nice, thick winter coats. Which is excellent for our Oklahoma winter weather! It is not-so-excellent for our sudden May 80° days. In the past, I’ve used all sorts of curry combs and shedding blades to help shed their winter coat quickly, but this thing is like magic.
When my husband first saw this grooming tool he exclaimed, “well that’s nothing but a hack saw blade!” And perhaps it is. But I love my hack saw blade/grooming tool dearly. The past couple weeks that’s all I’ve been using before tacking up.Time savers are life savers for this cowgirl.
Scrapey scrapey here, scrapey scrapey there. A few sprays of Shine Bright and I’m done! It makes quick work out of caked-on mud as well.
The mounds and mounds of winter horse hair are so satisfying.
They sell for $19.95 on the Sleek EZ website–which isn’t too bad, especially if you normally use a grooming block that dissipates with each scrape. Happy shedding season!
